Deltek Time Records (How To)
Quick steps to Fill in timesheets:
- First get to know your friend: F2
( For Look Up)
- Go to Menu >> Process >> Time Record (if not in the time record window)
- Click on Summary by Day Tab
Select Employee: if your name is not selected.
- Adjust Period Beginning (if needed)
Period Ending (should be adjusted automatically)
- Select Project - put your mouse cursor on the project field
Hit F2 and look up
projects
you will see another window opens like this:
- Move to Billing Group (BillGrp) with the tab key or mouse cursor.
- Use F2 to search for billGrp
- Select Phase & Labor Code (LabCode): Similarly use F2 to search for phase and labor code (labcode).
- Start putting time
on the days, Mon ,Tue ....etc. Add projects as needed
- Write comments/notes especially
if required as some projects require comments
- Submit & Save - it is -very important-
to submit your time record for approval (usualy at the
end of the week); This
should be the last day
of the week, so you can gradually add your time everyday then submit the last day.
- Other useful functions:
- You can copy an entry (copy and paste a row) using: F8
- You can print (if
you need to)
- You can copy a Time Sheet especially if you are working on the same projects, that
way you don't have to add projects, phases...etc again. to do so:
Go to Menu >> Data >> Copy Record >> Yes
